WCIT 2008 is almost there!

Today the 11th International Advisory Panel meeting was held with several issues being pointed out by the Prime Minister.
He stated that IAP members should consider the role of technologies to counter the food crisis by increasing its production (in which I wonder how it will be implemented) and enhancing the management of food and energy resources.
PM also stressed out on the innovation culture, where all Malaysian must embrace on the application of technologies in various aspects of life, and at the same time government must play the active role on the development of innovation.
This, he said, by giving example on government’s decision to make a big buck investment for high speed broad band (HSBB) which have been announced recently.
At the same time, Abdullah also said that more cybercities and cybercentres will be launched soon in addition to the 13 that have already started in full fleged mode nationwide.
During the same media conference after the meeting, most of the IAP members agreed to assist Malaysia in promoting the MSC Malaysia initiative more aggresively, since it was considered a highly succesful projects.
By the way, at the specially arranged press conference for local media, Abdullah urged the media not to make its own conclusion regarding the VK Lingam videos until the Royal Commision of Inquiry made a final decision.
